Is your desk set up causing you pain? Let us put your desk to the test. The Desk Test is a Workstation Assessment designed to help you achieve a safe, comfortable and pain free workstation. We assess the space, height, reach and light of your workstation whether it is at home or in the office.
From these findings we resolve and prevent further issues by making adjustments, advice to improve your posture, movement and work patterns, providing exercises and equipment recommendations if required. Following these changes many of our clients feel immediate relief from pain and discomfort. Small changes in the workstation and the ways of working can make a huge difference to discomfort and pain.
We are independent of chair and ergonomic suppliers so we can provide unbiased recommendations.
Is a Workstation Assessment a legal requirement?
Under the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992, workers who use Display Screen Equipment such as PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones for more than one hour daily are required to have a workstation assessment (Desk Test), this includes long term working from home.
Who is this for?
The Desk Test is for anyone who is using a PC, laptop or tablet and who is feeling discomfort or pain when working or for those who would like to check that their desk area is set up to prevent discomfort. It can be for individuals or for a number of employees from small to large businesses. The Desk Test can be used for those working from home or in an office*.
Is The Desk Test compliant with Health and Safety Regulations?
All our Desk Tests (Workstation Assessments) are compliant with the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992.

- History of significant back or neck pain i.e., prolapsed disc
- Repetitive strain injury

During this assessment, a detailed medical history of the condition is taken to allow the Tester to understand specific needs and tailor recommendations accordingly.
A thorough evaluation of the workstation and analysis of the working tasks, movement and posture is completed to assess the reach, height, space and light of the workstation.
Anthropometric measurements may be taken to assess the individuals ‘fit’ for the chair and workstation.

Received a professional online desk assessment from the physio company whilst working at home to help me set up a home office and working environment which has been very useful. Good communication prior to assessment, great professional assessment and advice, follow up checks to ensure set up working well. Overall, great professional service which has created a comfortable home working environment, highly recommended.VW
I found the remote assessment very useful to reduce issues I started to have with my wrist that were directly related to my home office set up. The physio listened carefully, asked for photos in advance and a view via the video call. It helped that my teenage daughter could assist with this task! The advice was sensible and I started applying it immediately, and purchased the equipment recommended. Both have led to me being more comfortable and the pain id reducing in my wrist. I recommend this service which is essential, in my opinion, for all of us remote working more than the odd day on an ad hoc basis. A few minutes time and small investment may be the difference between continual pain and irritation and discomfort.Julie, Global bank based in London
I took a remote assessment of my working from home arrangements. It was done thoroughly and efficiently, looking at all the important aspects of the working from home environment – the mix of working standing, sitting down, having a relaxed area for thinking and reading long documents. It was a few weeks into the lockdown and I felt that the physiotherapist was already completely comfortable with looking at working from home arrangements. All in all I am very satisfied with the service.City bank
