Display Screen Equipment Assessment (DSE) (Workstation assessments)

The Physio Company have been providing DSE assessments for a large number of clients throughout England since 1993. Our clients vary from Magic Circle and other law firms, City banks, private equity firms, manufacturing companies, charities, travel companies, food companies, property companies, and individuals.

Under the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) regulations 1992 workstation assessments are a legal requirement for companies with more than five employees.

All our workstation assessments are carried out by physiotherapists with specialist ergonomic/Health and Safety training. With this knowledge and the knowledge of anatomy, posture and injuries that can occur from working in a poor position, our physiotherapists are well placed to do workstation assessments and provide not only adjustments to the workstation but advice on preventative exercises and posture changes that will prevent or ease pain. The small movement and posture changes that we make can make big differences to the client’s comfort.

We can provide a variety of workstation assessments services:

  • Standard assessment for new joiners or to assess a group of workers who haven’t been assessed before or have moved desks.
  • Assessment for users suffering from a musculo-skeletal problems such as back pain, repetitive strain injury, neck pain etc
  • Assessments can be booked for an individual or a group of people.

During an assessment the user is observed whilst working and a checklist is completed between the assessor and the user. A report is then provided for the employer detailing adjustments and advice given during the assessment and recommendations made.

We are independent and do not sell equipment but we have a good working relationship with a number of ergonomic equipment and chair suppliers who can provide the most suitable equipment for our client.
